I’ve been away this weekend, staying in a holiday let belonging to artist Terry Duffy. It felt so good to get away for a few days. We had sun too. Very lucky. We were right next to the sea, so I thought it would be best to do a blog about seaside based ethical clothing brand Earth Kind Originals. As its one of the most popular brands sold in AIRR. Jo mentioned EKO in her guest blog too so go and read that next!
Earth Kind Originals are an ethical brand based in Cornwall. They work closely and very ethically with the workers who produce the clothing and their fabric and fibre supplyers. The materials used to produce the clothing are interesting too, Tencel is produced using eucalyptus plants and is softer than silk and lighter than linen. They also use organic cotton, that is GOTs certified and a relief for those suffering from allergies.
Each season they bring out a small collection of items that can be layered up, ideal for lounging, yoga Pilates etc. But are also very comfortable for maternity wear. The dresses are beautiful and can be dressed up or down. I have a few EKO bits in my wardrobe, as does my mother and mother in law. I feel that the collections they have can can be comfortably and confidently worn by all ages.
This seasons colour palette was beautiful, blues grays and charcoal colours, the top in the photo above has been customised after a bilberry incident. But all clothing is very easy to look after. and keeps its shape was after wash!
I have have the EKO swing skirt which has a high waist band that can be adjusted, it’s great on hot days with bare legs and a summer top on hot days, but I can also team it up with black long sleeve tops to switch to an evening outfit. Or leggings and jumpers in cold weather.
One item item that I can’t go without is the Organic Relax leggings, again with the high adjustable waist band, they’re so comfortable! The seam down the outside leg is a lovely detail. Very durable and long lasting too, especially in the knee area! And, like lots of their latest collections, they are hand made in Cornwall, with organic cotton that is knitted in Nottingham.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the Autumn Winter collection is like. Available in the AIRR Clothing shop and online here: https://www.airrclothing.co.uk/collections/earth-kind-originals
